"Excellent food, service and view"
had the Italian seafood soup that was to die for and we also had the wrapped bacon scallops, it was all delish and my husband had the prime rib, excellent...The view was beautiful and service was great...
"Wonderful ambience; INCREDIBLE view!" This is our date night restaurant when we go to Estes Park. The shrimp cocktail is superb with colossal shrimp---the atmosphere is elegant with wonderful live music in the background. The service was outstanding. Two thumbs way up!
"Romantic dining room with mountain views"
This is one of two restaurants in this stunning lodge. The Chalet offers formal dining in an elegant setting with white tablecloths. Next door, The Tavern, as the name implies, offers informal, lounge dining with a rustic character and even live music some evenings. Both offer outdoor dining. Indoors or outdoors, they feature wonderful mountain and valley views. They use the same menu. We had eaten lunch in The Tavern and liked it so much we dressed up a bit and went back the next night to The Chalet. On that evening, the restaurant was hosting two huge groups (one a birthday party), so it was a bit noisy initially and the wait staff was overburdened. Nevertheless, because of the elegant dining room and spectacular views, the atmosphere was remarkably romantic and the service turned out to be impeccable. We were not inebriated, but spilled our water on the table TWICE! Wait people were there immediately both times with towels, napkins to cover the wet portions of the tablecloth, new waters and a sense of humor. That night the ribs were excellent. I ordered the catfish without paying attention to the description of it as fried. It was good, but I'll order something else the next time. The wine list is amazing.
